Back in February, Courtney, from one of my favorite blogs,
Little Glass Box, talked about some
spool love! She had been to a flea market and spotted some old wooden spools {she took a picture, shown below}. She didn't buy them right on the spot, but decided to walk around and think about it. When she was done, she decided she really wanted to get some of them, but could not think of where she had seen them at the market in a sea of 800+ vendors. When she talked with her mom over the phone later in the day she found out that her mom had some spools and asked if she wanted them. Courtney immediately said yes and now she has them at her home {shown below}. I do have to say her mother's are much nicer than the flea market ones she passed up.

Needless to say after reading her spool post, I want some NOW! I want to collect all kinds and have them displayed on a shelf in my living room or, when I hope to eventually purchase a nice big tv cabinet, display them on the top of that! Now I need to scour the antique stores around here and find some! My mom has some beautiful old wooden spools, but I can't seem to talk her out of them. So I will be starting from scratch and hope to find some real beauties! In the meantime, here are some great pictures for inspiration!!
Do you have a fun and quirky collection? If so, what is it?
