Artsy Tuesday - Sophie Blackall

I introduce to you Sophie from Sophie Blackall on Etsy. She is a Brooklyn-Australian illustrator living in Brooklyn, New York. Sophie grew up in Australia and completed a Bachelor of Design in Sydney in 1992. She spent the following years painting robotic characters for theme parks, working on a DIY television show, and writing a household hints column. She moved to New York in 2000 after falling in love with the city. Her work has appeared in many publications including The New York Times, The Boston Globe, Architectural Digest and she has animated nine tv commercials in the UK, as well as illustrated many children's books.

I absolutely adore Sophie's work. I think its very fun and quirky and would give any place in your home some great character. I love the colors she uses and the theme of her work is so sweet. A lot of her work in her Etsy shop are from her recent and ongoing project called 'Missed Connections' which has recently been made into a book. I came across this book a couple of months ago and always wondered what it was about so I was excited to learn its her book! So take a look at some of my favorites from her shop.

Isn't she so talented? I think my absolute favorite is her Bonsai Girl Print. Its so adorable and I, of course, love the polka dot dress in it! Sophie also has a great website where you can find more of her work, her blog, and anything else you want to find out more information about in regards to her. So check out her shop and let me know which ones your favorite!
