Artsy Tuesday: Golly Bard

I introduce you to Holly from Golly Bard on Etsy. She is a watercolor artist from the Virginia countryside. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Syracuse University where she studied the fine art of printmaking, paper making, and book arts. Holly's work is inspired by anything she is in love with at the moment. She says, "I'm slightly obsessed with natural history, anatomy, things in jars, garden maps, miniatures of the mughal dynasty, weather systems, fashion, portraits, wallpaper, calligraphy, and patterns." Her work has been featured in Southern Living, Style at Home, Poppytalk, Fossil, and many more wonderful publications and blogs.

I absolutely adore Holly's work and her love for nature. Her watercolors are simple yet so beautiful. Like her, I am obsessed with natural history, anatomy and things in a jar among other things. There is just something about things in a jar that is so sweet and gets me all giddy inside hence my love for terrariums. I came across Holly's beautiful work while browsing Etsy one day and knew I wanted to see much more from her and find out more about her as an artist. So take a look at some of my favorites from her shop.

Beautiful, right? I think my absolute favorite is her Willow Catkins piece. So lovely and I love the colors! Holly also has a sweet little blog and she has a Spoonflower shop where you can buy many of her patterns in fabric. They are gorgeous! I think I need to place an order very soon! So go visit Holly over on Etsy and show her some love!
